Elevating Chiropractic through the practice of Concept-Therapy©

DR. WILLIAM DAWSON, DC, is a 48-year veteran chiropractor, master NUCCA practitioner, and one of the longest-serving teachers at the Concept-Therapy Institute (since 1979). A Cleveland College of Chiropractic graduate (1976), Dr. Dawson’s path began when a single NUCCA adjustment saved his first wife from a medically incurable condition. That life-changing event led him to embrace chiropractic’s core philosophy — freeing innate intelligence — and to discover Concept-Therapy®, the profound system developed by Dr. Thurman Fleet after his 1931 illumination into cosmic consciousness.

Concept-Therapyc teaches the timeless natural laws of body, mind, and soul, guiding practitioners and patients out of fear-based living into higher consciousness, faith, and true healing. Far more than technique, it equips chiropractors to address the mental and spiritual roots of dis-ease, producing results that go beyond spinal correction.

In this exclusive TAC “Tic” Talk Podcast interview, Dr. Dawson shares the philosophy, practical application, memorable cases, and why elevating consciousness remains chiropractic’s most powerful — and often overlooked — tool.

TAC: Can you tell us a bit about your background and how you became a doctor of chiropractic?

W.D.: My first experience with chiropractic came when my first wife, Barbara, was diagnosed with a condition the medical profession said was incurable. She had less than six months to live.

A friend who had just graduated from Cleveland College of Chiropractic recognized her issues and urged us to see Dr. Ralph Gregory, the originator of NUCCA. After one adjustment, she began to recover fully.

I was in pre-med at the time, planning to become a medical doctor or dentist, but that changed everything. If Dr. Gregory could heal people that way, I wanted to do it too. I started at Cleveland College in January 1974, moved my family from Michigan to Los Angeles with no job and no friends, just a clear goal.

There, I studied under Dr. Town, a direct student ofB.J. Palmer, who instilled pure chiropractic philosophy — the idea of universal intelligence expressing as innate intelligence or life force through the nervous system, which must be free of interference. I graduated in 1976 and have been in practice for 48 years, primarily using NUCCA because I love its precision and measurement.

TAC: What led you to become involved with Concept-Therapy?

W.D.: In my first semester at Cleveland, I met a fellow student who had completed all the Concept-Therapy® courses. We became best friends, and he introduced me to the deeper, inner side of chiropractic philosophy — what Concept-Therapy teaches. I was fascinated.

Dr. Thurman Fleet, a chiropractor, had a profound illumination in 1931, entering cosmic consciousness for seven days and nights. He received “downloads” from the universe and was given the task to teach chiropractors not just how to adjust and move bones, but also how to truly heal. He was so successful in San Antonio that the city made him relocate his office twice and needed a traffic cop to manage the crowds.

His work produced real results where others only adjusted. I’ve been teaching these classes for 46 years now, and my wife Robin is president of the Concept-Therapy Institute board and my teaching partner.

TAG. For listeners who may not be familiar, what exactly is Concept-Therapy?

W.D.: Concept-Therapy is the foundational course created by Dr. Fleet after his illumination. It’s not a religion; we teach about religions but have none of the dogma. Originally for chiropractors, it expanded because doctors wanted their families, staff, and patients to learn it too.

The beginning course is about law: natural laws governing the body, mind, and soul. It starts by taking the human apart, from subatomic particles and how they behave, to atoms, molecules, plants, animals, and finally humans. We learn to move out of instinctive, animal-level behavior (fear, worry, criticism, selfishness, jealousy, vanity, interference, hatred) and into higher consciousness — faith, hope, love.

The flagship book is Rays of the Dawn®, which teaches these laws sunply, without fads. Courses are full weekends (minimum 23 hours), with seven phases of Conceptology and additional advanced classes. Anyone can take them.

“At its heart, Concept-Therapy teaches the laws of life so people can live in harmony with them.”

TAC: What are the core principles or philosophy behind Concept-Therapy?

W.D.: At its heart, Concept-Therapy teaches the laws of life so people can live in harmony with them. Rays of the Dawn outlines the laws of the body (nourishment, movement, recuperation, sanitation), the mind, and the soul, without the latest supplements or diets that come and go. The goal is to raise consciousness from lower, fear-based states to spiritual consciousness where love, faith, and peace prevail.

We are more than brains and bodies; we are souls — the thinker behind the thoughts, the feeler behind the feelings. Growing in consciousness is lifelong. We show people how to follow natural laws so they can gradually enter higher states like the cosmic consciousness Fleet experienced. Healing is holistic: body, mind, and soul working together.

TAC: How does Concept-Therapy differ from other wellness or chiropractic approaches?

W.D.: Most chiropractic focuses on adjusting to remove nerve interference so innate intelligence can function. Concept-Therapy goes deeper. It teaches the healer how to project healing consciousness and helps patients address the mental and soul levels that sustain or block physical results. Many chiropractors move bones but don’t always get full healing.

Fleet showed how to get results. We avoid fads; we teach timeless principles. AI may train brains, but it can never touch the soul. Concept-Therapy awakens the soul, fosters ongoing evolution in consciousness, and equips people to attain peace of mind and heart that most never learn how to reach. It’s not a technique replacement; it’s the inner work that makes techniques more effective.

TAC: How does chiropractic care intersect with the teachings of Concept-Therapy? Can you give an example of how the mind-body connection plays a role in healing or treatment?

W.D.: Chiropractic frees the nervous system so innate intelligence can flow and heal. Concept-Therapy teaches the consciousness that directs that intelligence. Healing is healing; results are what matter.

Emotional or mental stress absolutely impacts alignment and spinal health; unresolved fear, anger, or criticism creates tension that holds subluxations. Conversely, a practitioner projecting a healing consciousness — holding the patient in a state of wholeness — can produce rapid change.

I’ve seen patients transform when I hold that higher awareness. The mindbody-soul connection is real: the soul (innate) works through the mind and body. Clear the interference physically and address the inner causes, and true healing follows.

One memorable case involved a young patient who responded dramatically once I consciously projected healing intent. The change was so complete it felt expected, not miraculous.

“Concept-Therapy shows that when the practitioner’s own consciousness is elevated, the patient’s innate intelligence responds more powerfully. ”

TAC: Have you had any memorable cases or patient transformations you’d be willing to share?

W.D.: Every long-term chiropractor has miracles. Mine often come from consciously projecting healing consciousness onto patients.

Not long ago, a young patient with a severe condition shifted rapidly once I held them in that higher awareness. The result was so profound it became the new normal — expected rather than surprising.

Concept-Therapy shows that when the practitioner’s own consciousness is elevated, the patient’s innate intelligence responds more powerfully. We’ve seen countless transformations when people apply the laws and raise their own consciousness alongside care.

TAC: How is Concept-Therapy taught or passed on to others in the chiropractic or holistic health community? Are there workshops or certifications?

W.D.: We teach live courses primarily in San Antonio at the Concept-Therapy Institute, with Dr. George Bobbitt teaching near Dallas. Originally chiropractors-only, now open to everyone.

The first course is Concept-Therapy; then seven phases of Conceptology and specialized classes — each a full weekend minimum. Many chiropractors buy Rays of the Dawn by the hundreds for their patients. There are no formal “certifications” like a diploma mill, but completing the coursework equips you to apply the principles.

In the late ’80s/early ’90s, I traveled coast-to-coast teaching chiropractors and staff. Today, we continue in-person and welcome doctors, staff, families, and patients. The website concept-therapy, org has all the details and upcoming dates.

TAC: What keeps you motivated and inspired in your practice? Where can people learn more about you and Concept-Therapy?

W.D.: After 51 years with this work, I’m still growing. It never ends — there’s always more peace, more awareness, more of what life offers. That ongoing evolution is beautiful and keeps me inspired every day.

People can learn more at concept-therapy, org or by contacting the Concept-Therapy Institute in San Antonio, Texas. The institute offers courses year-round, and many resources are available there. Rays of the Dawn is included with the first class or can be purchased separately.

TAC: Finally, if you could leave our listeners with one message about healing or wellness, what would it be?

W.D.: True healing comes from aligning body, mind, and soul with natural law and raising your consciousness. Move out of fear into faith, worry into hope, criticism into appreciation. The peace and health you seek are already available; you just need to learn how to claim them.

Chiropractic removes interference; Concept-Therapy shows you how to live so the innate intelligence can do its perfect work. Start today: study the laws, apply them, and watch yourself and your patients transform.
