IN THIS I5SUE... The Fountain/wad of chiropractic philosophy and education. Palmer College, and one ol the largest chiropractic associations. the Florida Chiropractic Association (FCA) are going head to head in a battle over public chiropractic education and who will be the first to bring chiropractic education to Florida. You'll find details about the controversy which has DCs all over the US choosing sides, beginning on page 26 with our interview of Palmer's Guy Rickemun, and continuing on page 27 with an interview of FCA's Debbie Brown. Can chiropractic survive in a government-funded entity or do we, indeed, run the risk of being changed by an "inevitable" medical influence? Decide for yourself and be sure to fill out our Fax Back Survey on page 5, or online at: www.amcliiropractor.com Another interview you'll find in this issue is our brief Q & A with FCER President, Dr. Vincent P. Lucido. This past August, while at the FCA national convention in Orlando. Florida, one of our editorial board members introduced me to Dr. Lucido. as well as the entire board of the FCER, who were holding a meeting: and. when I asked him what we should educate DCs on regarding the FCER, he told me that most DCs are unaware of just what the FCER is and what it is doing...so. now you'll know! We hope that, in this brief interview, you'll get the answers to your questions and. hopefully, be stimulated to get more involved with chiropractic education and research. (Bx the way. Mario Solo. DC. Member of the Board of Trustees of the FCER is also a newly appointed editorial board member for TAC Welcome aboard. Dr. Sato!) On a different note, we apologize for the absence of the Millionaire Series Interview in this issue. But. don't worry, we've got a good one for you next time. While millionaires are great examples for us to follow, it's not always easy to get them to share their secrets to success, on demand! Every one of our Millionaire Interviews is a gem to be reviewed and appreciated, though, so be sure to check it out in the next issue! What we do have for you this time is the first in a new column on Orthotics—something which has been absent for some time. Be sure to read Dr. John Danchik's article on page 46, "Foot Stability and Athletic Performance". Finally, another new addition in this issue of TAC is our "National Associations News Update". This is a special column for which we've contacted the ACA, ICA. and WCA requesting special summaries of their most important news and activities over the previous two months. This way, if you don't have time to keep up with all of the daily news and events, you can get a distilled account of the important work these fine associations are doing on behalf of chiropractic and you! All this, and much, much more, in this special issue! We look forward to hearing from you, as always...so keep those letters, e-mails, and Fax Back Surveys coming! For chiropractic, Jaclyn Busch
