IN THIS ISSUE...Practice Management W ell, Spring has sprung, again, and it's time to take stock of what's working, what's not, and how to fix things in your practice. Addressing your Practice Management concerns with regard to increasing efficiency, as well as patient flow, in this issue, we begin with an excellent article by Dr. Dianne Baynes, "Seven Essentials to Get the Most out of Your Team," which will help you to manage your staff and your office more productively. Further to this end, on page 20, Derek Greenwood says, "Don't Let Paperwork Stall Your Orowtli! —recommending mat it may De time to invest in some new more modern office management software in order to streamline your office procedure—and to get paid faster as your practice grows. Also, Dr. Jeffrey Olsen proposes that you "'Net' Your Work to Improve Your Net Worth" (page 47), by forming alliances with colleagues who can help you maintain your focus in your practice, in lieu of a practice consultant, per se. Nutritionally, in this issue. Dr. Lynn Toohcy continues a personal account of the effect enzyme supplementation had on her experiencing a full recovery from a ruptured disc—truly a remarkable tale, beginning on page 29, with a great deal of well-referenced information! We're featuring another article, this issue, by Dr. Richard Busch, III, which discusses the use of nutritional supplementation, in conjunction with axial decompression therapy, to treat herniated disc disorders. .. .Yes, the author is one of the TAC family members. (We believe in nepotism!) But, actually, we're proud to say that Dr. Busch has been using axial decompression therapy so successfully in his clinic over the past four years that he currently has three units in full force in his practice. Talk about finding a need and filling it! If you're interested in helping your patients avoid back surgery for those severe cases in which regular chiropractic care isn't enough, here is your answer! Look for Dr. Busch's retrospective Case Study for "The Treatment of Herniated Discs" on page 14. In preparation for the second of our Seminar Tour series, I had the honor of attending The Loomis Institute of Enzyme Nutrition Seminar, in San Francisco in mid-January. Do yourself a favor, and preview this unique seminar series, by turning to page 32, for an interview with Dr. Loomis, followed by my personal commentary on the experience. Now, for what's new at TAC! In addition to our regular features and departments this issue, we call your attention to a new X-Ray Q&A column, authored by Dr. Terry Yokum, on page 9. Got a question for Dr. Yokum? Send it to us! Last, but not least, we're pleased to announce that TAC's new online version of the magazine is up and running! We think you'll find it's much more interactive and user-friendly; it includes a search engine for articles by topic, and you can grade the articles as you read them to let us know what you think! Plus, you'll be able to subscribe to TAC right online. So go check us out now at www.chirofusion.com! And stay in touch! For chiropractic. Jaclyn Busch
