IN THIS ISSUE... To inspire you to achieve greater success in your own practice, our cover story features a millionaire chiropractor from Florida, Dr. Chris McKenney, with nearly twenty years in practice. We found Dr. McKenney for this issue's interview by asking some of our close friends in the technology and software field whom they work with in chiropractic that incorporates technology (this issue's feature topic) in practice most productively.. .and Dr. McKenney stood out as a prime example! Looking at his practice particulars, you'll be amazed to sec just how simple it can be to run a million dollar, subluxation-based practice! Oh, we've also included a brief "Tool Kit" (on pg. 30) so you can see what products and product lines a successful chiropractor like Dr. McKenney trusts in his own clinic. This is kind of our way of showing you how to "Be Like Mike" (or, in this case, Chris) and copy some of the habits and purchases of a successful practitioner... Check out Dr. McKenney's interview starting on page 28. Continuing with the Technology and Software theme, we have three more articles bound to spark your awareness by showing you just how much a few changes in your clinic can improve your patient's care AND your bottom line. First, software designer Derek Greenwood suggests "'Protecting Your Return On Investment" by investing in your own practice—instead of the latest "Get Rich Quick" stock or plan (what a novel idea!)—with smart software additions, which you'll see described in detail in his article beginning on page 22. Next, in "X-Ray Digitization" on page 32, author Daniel Boyer describes how this latest technology option can be integrated into your clinic to "limit your liability and increase your credibility". Finally, on page 44, David Marcarian gives you "David's Rules For a Stress-Free Partnership with Technology from a 'Techno-Geek'". This is a fun, useful and easy-to-read article you'll want to be sure to read carefully. Covering other topics of special interest to you in this issue, our Technique column features "The Graston Technique". This new technique is attracting a lot of attention. At the FCA seminar this past August 2002, the Graston booth was so busy and flooded with fascinated doctors that I never even got a chance to experience the technique myself. (Maybe next seminar!) But at least you can find out what the excitement is about with this brief overview beginning on page 34. Two other "must read" articles (although they're ALL "MUST READ," aren't they?) which are particularly inspiring are the Philosophy articles. Don't miss Dr. Mark Sanna's instruction on "How to Have More Than Enough" on page 42, as well as Dr. Patrick Gentempo's, "Think, Say, & Do," on page 36. And, while I'd like to mention all articles in particular, I'm running out of space, so I just want to point out one final thing, our famous "Yellow Page" of "Chiropractic Around the World". Each issue we search all our sources looking for the latest lawsuits and potential hazards that can befall a chiropractic practice. During the past summer months we were happy to find that there really wasn't any "bad" stuff happening to chiropractors (or By chiropractors for that matter). Well, unfortunately, it seems that the winds have changed and our yellow page is once again full of some pretty appalling stuff going on out there, so read page 52 and be sure to be careful and responsible in practice! Well, that's it for now!! Enjoy your holidays! Keep up the great work and keep in touch! Jaclyn Busch Touzard [email protected] For chiropractic,
