From the Director's Desk
Memo
A question frequently encountered in practice has to do with the impact of the chiropractic adjusment. Beginning on page 30, Dr. Mark Studin has done a great job of taking you through all the pathways, to understand exactly how the chiropractic adjustment leads to changes in nervous system activity and physiology, using the
most recent advanced technology to explain his perspective.
Another important article, beginning on page 12, is a review of a recent study published in Spine, by Dr. Michael Schneider regarding outcomes for acute and subacute low back pain, comparing allopathic care, manual manipulation, and the Activator adjusting instrument. This is sure to generate some conversation.
What an exciting year this has been if you’re a fan of historical changes in healthcare delivery. An important player on behalf of chiropractic is the American Chiropractic Association (ACA). Read what the current president, Anthony Hamm, DC has to say about the most recent goals for the ACA, and leam what is meant by the creation of the College of Phannacology and Toxicology, begining on page 62.
It is an interesting time to be a chiropractor! Remember to hand your CA the August issue of The Chiropractic Assistant.
Keep up the great work!
Joseph Busch, DC
