In this issue... F ocusing on practice management this issue, we at TAC decided to contact as many practice management leaders as possible to get you the best, most current advice to improve your business and practice success. The result, as you can see by our cover, is our feature beginning on page 22, in which twelve of the most well known leaders in the profession share with you their most frequently asked questions and give their expert advice. A lot of people put a great deal of work into this project, and the effort was well worth it! Don't miss it! Also, for a companion piece, we spent endless hours gathering information to compile the Practice Management Directory on page 20 so that you can use it as a reference tool when you need additional advice or help. We've adhered to strict guidelines, limiting listings only to those companies that provide Practice Management services, making this the most accurate and useful directory of its kind in the profession. Then, on February 5lh, word arrived that the Chancellor of Palmer College, Dr. Guy Riekeman, had resigned! Well, we knew there had to be a story behind this sudden change of events; however, we didn't feel compelled to do any in-depth coverage of it...until we received an email from a doctor suggesting some radical possibilities behind Riekeman's sudden resignation. Allegations were circulating all over the internet, suggesting conspiracies among the CCE, ACA, and other entities which provoked Riekeman's leaving Palmer. In getting to the truth behind the rumors—which abounded—we were met with cooperation and professionalism on all fronts, as we offered all the parties involved an opportunity to "clear things up". Vickie Anne Palmer, Guy Riekeman, and Craig Little of the CCE, give their versions of what really happened—or didn't happen—at Palmer, beginning on page 8. Since a major component of successful practice management involves ethical procedures documenting the "need for care", we're including a special section for diagnostic products and services in this issue. More and more every day, chiropractors are being alerted to the need for documentation that can withstand the scrutiny of the court systems as well as the insurance companies. If you're interested in establishing a better treatment protocol for your patients' progress, check out the diagnostic options featured on pages 32-33! Other articles you won't want to miss this issue include Dr. Loomis's Part 2 on the "Five Stages of Pregnancy" beginning on page 42. In this issue, Dr. Loomis shares some great tips on how to help your patients get rid of morning sickness, edema, sugar cravings and more! Also, on Nutrition, Dr. David Seaman focuses on "Inflammation and Diet" on page 50, and does an excellent job of explaining the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between the fatty acids such as the Omega 3 & Omega 6's in the diet. Of course, there's more, so get started reading and be sure to tell us what you think! Jaclyn Busch Touzard [email protected] Keep up the great work! For chiropractic,
