In this issue... O ur cover story this issue features a very familiar face, Dr. Terry Yochum. You may recognize him as the author of our recurring Radiology Corner column, or from seeing him speak at a recent seminar, but, more importantly. Dr. Yochum is the co-author of a reference book which has become a staple in chiropractic and medical offices around the world. As prepares to release its 3rd Edition of this significant text in July, we, at TAC, wanted to take the opportunity to congratulate Dr. Yochum on his remarkable accomplishments during his career. Find out for yourself how this book came into being in the first place, nearly 15 years ago, and get to know the man behind the book (beginning on Page 16). Also, this is our 4lh annual issue dedicated to turning your attention to the most important component of your practice—the technique. In our "Ten Great Techniques" feature, or, more appropriately titled this year, "Yes, There Really Are Ten More Great Techniques," beginning on page 22, we gathered information on ten more techniques that are changing people's lives and health for the better. This year, we have a special introduction by Dr. George Roth, developer and teacher of the Matrix Repatterning technique, to help get you thinking about how you pick the right technique for yourself and your patients. It's a never-ending process for a chiropractor, according to Dr. Roth. And, by looking at these ten techniques, I think you'll agree that there's always something more out there for you to learn and put into practice. Another special feature this issue is our "Table Shopping Guide" on page 20 to 21. We've broken down the hunt for the perfect table and organized it as any smart shopper would—by price! So here we've made it easy for you! We contacted all of the major adjusting table manufacturers in the chiropractic profession and asked them to send us information and prices on their best selling tables. We ended up with over a dozen of the best tables you can get at prices that vary from the top of the line to the most cost-effective for those on a tight budget. On a final note, of course, you'll want to see the great information from our columnists like the third and final installment in Dr. Loomis's "Five Stages of Pregnancy" beginning on page 54. And always a big hit is our Million Dollar Chiropractor interview. This issue we feature Dr. Steven Windwer, on page 36, along with his "Success Toolkit" of products and companies he uses on page 40. And for more practice management help, see Dr. Mark Sanna's "Tips" on page 10, Dr. Maurice Pisciottano's helpful Report Of Findings Questions & Answers on page 14, and Dr. Eric Kaplan's four management techniques to improve your billing department efficiency, on page 46. As always, there's much more, so read on and be sure to drop us a note to let us know what you think! Keep up the great work! For chiropractic. Jaclyn Busch Touzard [email protected]
