Dear TAC: I'm surprised that the article by John Milovich made it into the current issue. I know John, and respect his work in the field of microcurrent. But this article on PEP testing is an amazing collection of trash science that can get a lot of doctors into trouble. For 30 years the FDA has had a big problem with the claims of the equipment manufacturers mentioned in John's article. These devices aren't approved by the FDA and are subject to seizure, if reported. The reason for the problem is lack of documentation. Not a single study has determined that any of these tests have any valid basis. I should note, at this point, that I used to design devices of this type, and am quite familiar with their use and their purported operations. The profession needs no more trash science. You do a disservice to the profession and to your magazine by providing a forum for this material. Perhaps I should be on your editorial board.:-) Joseph Ventura D.C.
