In This Issue. The focus in this issue of TAC is rehabilitation, and our cover story, by Dr. James P. Cima is so informative and well written that it gets top billing! Dr. Cima's article gives you step-by-step instructions on creating a rehabilitation facility in your clinic, explaining how, why, and how much you need to get started, without drastically increasing your overhead. As a chiropractor who began weight lifting for his own back problems, he urges that you "let me save you the 20 years it took me to learn the truth" about weight training. From equipment, to start up expenses, to billing procedures, this article sums up answers to all your main questions about setting up your own rehab clinic. Read Dr. Cima's article on page 24 and let us know what you think on our reader fax survey (page 9). Continuing with the rehab theme, we have bumped Dr. Christensen's column up to the front of the book-a very informative piece on the benefits of "Rehabilitative Walking". Also, Bob Poirier provides some tips on advising your patients with regard to selecting the "right pillow" for sleeping in correct spinal alignment comfortably; and Dr. Seaman suggests ways for you to more effectively treat and educate your golfing patients who experience occasional bouts with shoulder pain. Nutritionally, we are featuring an article by Dr. Loomis, co-authored by Peter Slane, which deals with the importance of addressing lymphatic drainage as a possible cause of effusion, thus, speeding up the rehabilitation process. Then, we have the first in a series of articles by Mary Frost, excerpted from her book, which focuses, this issue, on correcting indigestion naturally. I picked this book up, recently, at a trade show, and found it fascinating, as well as informative. I hope you agree Finally, John Milovich describes a new testing procedure for determining areas of stress in the body, quickly and effectively; and Zev Myerowitz, in the first of a series of articles, suggests a unique relationship between chiropractic and acupuncture, and how understanding that relationship can assist you in affecting the healing process.
