San Diego, CA – July 1, 2015 – ChiroTouch™, the nation's leader in chiropractic software, recently added an ICD-10 coding requirements challenge to its website to help chiropractors evaluate their readiness to integrate the new coding system into their practices.

"There is a difference in believing you are ready for the ICD-10 transition and actually being ready," said Robert Moberg, CEO of ChiroTouch. "Our ICD-10 Challenge, along with our other ICD-10 readiness tools, is designed to expose the weaknesses in our clients' ICD-10 preparation activities so they can make the necessary changes well before the October 1st implementation deadline."

ChiroTouch's ICD-10 Challenge is a quick, interactive test designed to evaluate chiropractors' level of knowledge about ICD-10's coding requirements. Make no mistake—with nearly five times the number of codes and the increased specificity of each code, there is much to learn and much to prepare for before October 1st. ChiroTouch's ICD-10 Challenge highlights some of the coding changes specific to chiropractic and offers chiropractors a glimpse at just how ready they are—or aren't—for one of the most sweeping changes to the healthcare industry in decades.

"We understand how challenging it is to prepare to transition from ICD-9 to ICD-10, which is why we created a webpage specifically dedicated to providing our family of chiropractors with the tools they need to evaluate their present level of readiness," added Moberg. "We also offer the technology and training through our software wizards, ICD-9 to ICD-10 bridge, and dedicated staff to help make the transition efficiently without negatively impacting revenue and cash flow."

ChiroTouch offers two certified 2014 Edition Complete EHR chiropractic software systems designed from the ground up to maximize efficiencies for virtually every process, including patient self check-in, scheduling, SOAP notes, billing, interoffice communication and more. ChiroTouch has developed its HIPAA-compliant systems to drastically reduce the time it takes to perform tasks that chiropractors are already doing, thus giving chiropractors more time to see more patients—resulting in increased referrals, improved efficiencies, and a direct, measurable impact on practice profitability.

San Diego, CA – June 24th, 2015 – ChiroTouch™, the nation’s leader in chiropractic software, now offers an ICD-10 Readiness Quiz on its website to help chiropractors determine their level of readiness for the October 1st ICD-10 implementation deadline.

“October 1st is right around the corner, so time is running out for members of the chiropractic profession to implement an effective plan to transition to ICD-10 with minimal interruption in cash flow,” said Robert Moberg, CEO of ChiroTouch.  “Our online quiz is one of many tools we offer to help our clients determine the steps they still need to take to become ICD-10 compliant before the new coding system goes live.”

ChiroTouch’s online ICD-10 Readiness Quiz requires about two minutes to complete and provides immediate feedback to help chiropractors assess their readiness to adopt, transition, and start using ICD-10 codes in their practices.  The purpose of the quiz is to expose implementation considerations chiropractors may not have been aware of, including making sure their EHR has been updated to allow for the migration of ICD-10 codes into their systems, knowing what to do if a carrier denies a claim due to incorrect ICD-10 codes, and creating a clear pathway to crosswalk from ICD-9 to ICD-10 for their active patients.

“No one wants to be unprepared for the October 1st deadline, but developing a plan to account for the complexities of ICD-10 is daunting,” added Moberg.  “Our hope is that our online ICD-10 Readiness Quiz, along with our other ICD-10 preparation tools, will serve as a much-needed reality check for our clients and guide them through this complex transition with confidence.”

Annual NYCC Employee Recognition Luncheon Held at Gould Hotel
Press Release

Tuesday, 23 June 2015 21:00
Seneca Falls: A number of New York Chiropractic College employees recently gathered at The Gould Hotel in Seneca Falls for a luncheon to honor current members of the faculty, staff, and administration who have dedicated 10, 15, 20, 25, and yes, even 35 years of service to the College.

NYCCsealandlogoThis marked the 15th such event for the College; the first took place in 2001, when Human Resources Manager Christine McDermott approached NYCC President Dr. Frank J. Nicchi with the idea of publicly recognizing the contributions and service of long-term employees. Honorees are treated to lunch, during which their contributions are noted, and presented with a gift in thanks for their years of service to the College. Those recognized are then further honored by being given the remainder of the day off.

NYCC has been named by the Chronicle of Higher Education as a “Great College to Work For” for the past six years. Dr. Nicchi noted that this distinction is borne out by the number of people who remain employed by the College for many years. According to McDermott, there are approximately 17 current employees who have been with NYCC since 1990. In fact, some who recently retired (or are nearing retirement) accumulated between 20 and 40 years at NYCC. “It really says something about the feeling of family at NYCC,” said Nicchi.

Dr. Nicchi was honored at this year’s luncheon for his 35 years of service to the College, acting as a member of the faculty, Dean of the Postgraduate Department in Levittown, on Long Island, and then moving upstate to Seneca Falls and taking on the presidency of the College in 2000. “It’s never been about location,” he explained, “It’s always been about the people.”

Others honored at this year’s event were: (10 years) Terry Baity, Rosa Cona, Anita Cowles, Patricia Kaska-Caver, Dr. William Lauretti, Joan Lynch, Kimberly McCrea, Karen Quest, and Jennifer vonHahmann; (15 years) Jannette Elster, Carol Faivre, Melodie Loughney, Katherine Maine-Radka, Dianna Marechaux, Jeanne McCann, Scott Rogers, and Joan Tyler; (20 years) Cynthia Anderson, Victoria Baroody, Dr. Lisa Bloom, Dr. Fiona Jarrett-Thelwell, Dr. Chithambaram Philomin, Dr. Raj Philomin, Katherine Robson, Barbara Thomas, and Margaret VanKirk; and (25 years) Kathryn Albanese, Roger Kreiss, Timothy Millis, William Wayne, and Diane Zink.
