BLOOMINGTON, Minn. 9/20/2012. Gert Bronfort, DC, PhD Vice President of Research at Northwestern Health Sciences University, is the recipient of the 2012 Lincoln Research Prize in Chiropractic and Biomechanics. The $20,000 prize is the largest monetary award in chiropractic research. This award is given to a chiropractic scientist who has demonstrated outstanding research contributions with direct impact on chiropractic care and/or clinical biomechanics related to patient care over the past three years.

In a career spanning more than 40 years, including 19 years in private practice, Dr. Bronfort has earned an unprecedented record in chiropractic for receiving multimillion-dollar grants from prestigious grant agencies and a long list of scientific publications in top medical scientific journals. As a researcher and academic, Dr. Bronfort stands today as one of the most respected and recognized methodologists in the areas of clinical research and randomized clinical trials. He has designed, carried out and published several landmark trials in the area of spinal manipulation and exercise for neck pain, back pain and headache. His trials are characterized by rigorous designs and have impacted the spine pain field across health care disciplines world-wide. In addition to performing original research, Dr. Bronfort has summarized evidence in many systematic reviews and through his membership of the Editorial Board for the Cochrane Back Review Group he has become an influential figure far beyond chiropractic circles.

“I am honored to be the recipient of this prestigious award and I have decided to give a portion of the prize money to our university research fellowship fund to help support the education of our current fellows,” said Dr. Bronfort.

The award was presented at the Florida Chiropractic Association National Convention in August by the Lincoln Endowed Chair at the University of South Florida, along with the Florida Chiropractic Association, Florida Chiropractic Foundation for Education and Research, and the Lincoln Chiropractic College Education & Research Fund.

Quebec, Canada – Sept 19th, 2012 – ImaSight Inc, the industry leader in digital x-ray hardware and annotation software for chiropractic, is pleased to welcome Andrew Cheesman, formerly with RF System Lab, a Naomi reseller, as head of its international sales division.

“After working in the digital x-ray industry for nearly a decade, I saw an ever-increasing gap between ImaSight and its competitors,” said Andrew Cheesman, Director of Sales at ImaSight. “ImaSight’s products are top-notch, their support has set the industry standard, and their integrity is simply unmatched. I knew, if I was to continue to bring true value to chiropractors, that it would have to be through ImaSight.”

Cheesman served as Senior VP of Sales and Marketing for RF System Lab, North America for seven years, and has gained significant experience in the digital x-ray industry. He’s published several articles in industry trade magazines on the topic of digital radiography, and now brings his expertise to ImaSight.

“The opportunity to move to a better company presented itself to me, and having competed against ImaSight for years, I was aware of its strengths, better prices points, higher quality, and broader scope of offerings in the marketplace,” added Cheesman. “There is no question that ImaSight understands the value in making high-quality equipment and software available, and affordable, to the chiropractic community. I’m honored to now be a part of the team.”

ImaSight recently made its Vision Chiropractic Power Tools annotation software, designed with and for chiropractors, available directly to practices without the requirement of a hardware investment. This, combined with offering practices the option to retrofit their existing, film-based equipment with its Infusion System, or a complete turnkey key solution with its Ultimate System, gives chiropractors more options to go digital than ever before.

“We are pleased to bring Andrew onboard,” said Steve Johnston, Vice President and Co-founder of ImaSight. “He has brought with him considerable industry experience, understands the chiropractic market, and has a passion for developing long-term client relationships. Andrew will make an invaluable addition to ImaSight as we continue our expansion into the US and other markets.”

About Mighty Oak, Inc.

Mighty Oak was created in 1999. Our President, Judith Barnes, has been a computer teacher/ consultant since 1980. Taking their cues from Star Trek, students would always dream, "... do you think it would be COOL if you could just talk to the computer and it would type what you say?"

When Judith discovered Dragon Naturally Speaking, she knew it was a good time to start her own consulting company, specializing in speech recognition.

In 2001, Judith met a software developer who created a program for his wife (a chiropractor). The program used Dragon Naturally Speaking for a totally "voice activated" database application for chiropractors. Judith started selling the program, called DC Talk, and in 2005 had over 350 clinics installed. In March, 2005, Judith acquired DC Talk and hired her own programming staff. Most of our features are based on current customer's input. Don't be afraid to share your great ideas, your voice is heard at Mighty Oak!

Today, Judith teaches continuing education throughout the USA, specializing in computer creativity, productivity and speech recognition applications.

Mighty Oak and Judy are proud of their reputation for providing creative and timely customer support.

San Diego, CA – September 19th, 2012 – ChiroTouch™, the nation's leader in chiropractic software, recently launched a donation program to provide additional support to the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress.

“It’s important for us at ChiroTouch to continuously find ways to give back to the chiropractic community we serve,” said Robert Moberg, President of ChiroTouch.  “We’re excited to launch our latest program – from now until the end of the year, ChiroTouch will donate $250 to the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress for every ChiroTouch advanced total practice management software system purchased.”

The Foundation for Chiropractic Progress, a not-for-profit organization, was founded in November 2003 by Kent S. Greenawalt, President of Footlevelers Inc., as he felt a strong need for the entire chiropractic profession to receive positive media representation nationwide. The Foundation's Executive Board is comprised of chiropractic leaders, stakeholders and others. The Foundation embraces a mission of generating positive press for the chiropractic profession and increasing public awareness to the many benefits associated with chiropractic care. The Foundation's public awareness campaign consists of monthly press releases, advertorials, public service announcements, advertisements (print, radio, television), and partnerships with high profile spokespeople.

ChiroTouch is a fully-certified server-based software designed from the ground up to maximize efficiencies for virtually every process, including patient self check-in, scheduling, SOAP notes, billing, interoffice communication and more. ChiroTouch has developed its HIPAA-compliant system to drastically reduce the time it takes to perform tasks that chiropractors are already doing. That gives chiropractors more time to see more patients—resulting in increased referrals, improved efficiencies, and a direct, measurable impact on practice profitability.

“The Foundation’s commitment to the chiropractic profession inspired us to identify new ways we could support the tremendous work it does,” added Robert. “Our hope is that everyone associated the profession will be as inspired as we are and help this donation program flourish by investing in our software system.  Doing so will ensure that the Foundation can continue its tireless work in supporting and advancing the chiropractic community.”
